The success of the “National Initiative for Rare and Uncommon CNS Tumors (NIRUCT)” will depend on the collaborative efforts of a diverse team of experts. The proposed team structure is as follows:
- Project Directors (Prof. Dr. Asif Bashir and Prof. Dr. Syed Ather Enam):
Responsible for the overall strategic direction of the project, overseeing operations, and ensuring the registry meets its objectives. - Founder and Project Coordinator (Dr. Haseeb Mehmood Qadri, PINS):
Responsible for managing the data submission process, maintaining the registry, and ensuring that all data is consistent, accurate, and well-organized. - Core Clinical Team:
– Adult Neurosurgeons (Dr. Zubair Mustafa Khan and Dr. Ahtesham Khizar PINS): Central to diagnosing and managing rare CNS tumors, providing expert insights into surgical management and case reporting.
– Pediatric Neurosurgeons (Dr. Hassaan Zahid, PINS): Focused on the pediatric population, contributing their expertise in rare CNS tumors in children and adolescents.
– Neuro-Oncologists (Dr. Naureen Mushtaq, AKU and Dr. Rahat ul Ain, CHL): These specialists will guide the medical management of cases, contributing their expertise in chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and other systemic treatments.
– Radiologists (Prof. Dr. Saira Bilal, PINS): Responsible for reviewing and interpreting imaging data, ensuring diagnostic imaging quality and accuracy.
– Pathologist (Dr. Muhammad Imran, AIMC): Key in reviewing histopathological samples, aiding in the correct diagnosis of rare CNS neoplasms and contributing essential data to the registry. - Publication Support Team (NSIG PINS and NSIG AKU):
This team will help with the preparation of manuscripts for submission to journals, providing editorial assistance and helping clinicians navigate the publication process. - Technical Support Team (PANS):
Responsible for maintaining the online platform, ensuring its functionality, security, and ease of use. They will also assist clinicians with any technical issues related to data submission. - Administrative and Communication Team (NSIG PINS and NSIG AKU):
This group will handle logistics, communication, and outreach, ensuring the project runs smoothly and that clinicians across the country are kept informed and engaged.
